Banjo Pricing The Basic Banjo price also includes one hour of design time which is usually sufficient to work out the details of your banjo. Additional design time will be charged on an hourly basis. The Basic Banjo price also includes one hour of inlay work which should cover a simple inlay such as a star or other small ornament. Any time spent beyond this will be charged on an hourly basis. I believe that the best banjos devolop through a collabrative effort between the future banjo owner and the maker. I love helping design your banjo and your banjo's inlay with you but to save everyone time (and money), the closer you are to a final banjo design when we start the process, the better. I also feel that a good initial design has a lot to do with the the quality of the final banjo. Therefore I like to finalize the design early in the process rather than start a banjo and then make decisions or change things as the banjo progresses which can lead to a hodgepodge banjo. I think that in general, simplicity and cohesiveness should be strived for when it comes to banjo design. I usually encourage people to concentrate on the sound of the instrument and the overall look and feel of the banjo they are after and resist the urge to add too many options or inlays that might be nice indiviually but don't work together as a whole. In some cases a second banjo might be the best option. Examples of the various options can be seen on the Custom Options page. |
